The Montreal Botanical Gardens are one of the world’s largest, with a collection of 22,000 plant species and cultivars, 10 exhibition greenhouses, and some thirty thematic gardens. The Montreal Insectarium, the largest insectarium in North America, has an entomological collection of 140,000 specimens, with 4,000 on public display. Symposium attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Gardens and the Insectarium during the afternoon. After exploring the grounds, guests will be treated to an outdoor barbeque dinner and drinks, beginning at 6:00 pm. Please remember to wear sunblock and a hat as the event is mostly outdoors.

Buses will depart from the McTavish Gates of the McGill campus starting at 2:30 pm and a continuous bus service will be provided until 4:00pm. Guests will be taken approximately 8 km to the Montreal Botanical Gardens and Insectarium. Buses will return guests to the McGill campus starting at 8:00 pm. The last bus departs the Botanical Gardens at 9:30 pm.
